More YouTube Creator Features 

I'm going to show you the monetization policies for YouTube creators. You can be eligible for monetization using these updates. Knowing YouTube makes it easier to be eligible for creators. These updates give us more interest in YouTube. YouTube can also explore most of the creators who put in their hard work and get the most interesting content. Starting next year, creators will be able to join the YouTube Partner Program in one of the following ways:

• Get 1,000 subscribers with 4,000 hours of valid public viewing in the last 12 months, or
• Get 1,000 subscribers with 10 million valid public views in the last 90 days.

In addition to the above, we are introducing lower eligibility limits for YPP authors to access even earlier fan funding (like Super Thanks, Super Chat, Super Sticker, and Channel Subscriptions). These new fan funding eligibility limits will apply to long videos, live streams, and short content. We will provide more information in 2023!

 

Note that the existing eligibility criteria for YPP will not change. Valid public watch hours for viewing short videos in the short video feed also do not count towards the 4,000 valid public watch hours requirement.

The YouTube Partner Program (YPP) has announced new monetization eligibility for shorts. In 2023, YouTube creators can become eligible for YPP by using 1,000 subscribers with 10 million valid public short views in the last 90 days.

Regarding the eligibility requirement, however, please note that public views of short videos in the short video feed do not count towards the eligibility limit of 4,000 hours of public viewing.

 

Ad revenue with Shorts

When revenue sharing from Shorts begins in early 2023, it will replace the YouTube Shorts Fund. We expect most short-term fund recipients to earn more under this new model. Revenue sharing on short videos is another way creators can make money on YouTube, in addition to other sources of revenue such as ads in long videos, fan funding, and promotional merchandise.

 

Super Thanks on Shorts

Even earlier, starting in Fall 2022, we'll make Super Thanks on Shorts available to a limited group of creators, with plans to expand access in the first half of 2023. We'll also begin connecting brands and short creators as part of YouTube Brand Connect.

 

Monetize content using music

Music for Authors will only be available in the United States at launch. Stay tuned for more information on the next expansion in 2023.
