WhatsApp announced an interesting
and informative feature. In this article, I’m going to show you all the
upcoming or coming new features in WhatsApp. All of the below features are in
the beta version; this already works in beta WhatsApp, but in the old version
or below version 11 of Android mobile phones, it can work later. But if it's
not working, then your mobile phone needs an update.
1. Screenshot Blocking Feature
The first feature is blocking
screenshots. Anyone can block the screenshot from any of their contacts, just
as they can delete the messages of any contact. This feature is really good for
those who want to secure their pictures, videos, or messages, but it has one
drawback: if anyone wants to screenshot any other person's chat, he or she can
take a picture from another phone. So, this feature is not really good or
secure, but it is informative.
2. WhatsApp Premium for Business
Now WhatsApp is introducing a
premium feature for those who want to start their own business. This feature is
already working but not publicly; now WhatsApp said it can introduce it
publicly to explore the features of business for anyone but its premium
members. Those who can start businesses need to buy this feature to start and
explore their features with anyone or their businesses with anyone.
3. Clickable links on WhatsApp status
Clickable links on WhatsApp
status refer to the ability to add a hyperlink to a status update on the
WhatsApp messaging app. This feature allows users to include a clickable link
to a webpage or website within their status update, allowing viewers to easily
access the linked content with a single tap.
By using clickable links in
WhatsApp status updates, users can share links to news articles, blogs, videos,
and other web content with their friends and followers. This feature is
particularly useful for businesses and marketers who can use it to promote
their products or services to a wider audience.
When a user adds a clickable link
to their WhatsApp status, it will appear as a clickable button that viewers can
tap to open the linked content in their web browser. This provides a seamless
user experience and makes it easy for viewers to access the linked content
without having to copy and paste a URL into their browser manually.
4. New business Tool tab in WhatsApp
The New Business Tool tab in
WhatsApp Business allowed businesses to set up their business profile by
providing information such as their business name, description, email address,
physical address, and website link. Once set up, businesses can use the
WhatsApp Business app to engage with their customers by sending messages,
responding to queries, and managing customer requests.
Additionally, the New Business
Tool tab in WhatsApp Business also provides businesses with insights and
metrics on their messaging performance, including data on the number of
messages sent, delivered, read, and received. This can help businesses to track
their messaging activity and optimize their communication strategy over time.
It's important to note that
WhatsApp's features and functionalities may change over time, so it's
recommended to refer to the official WhatsApp website or app for the most up-to-date
information on its features and how to use them.
5. Companion Mode - multi-device sync
Companion Mode - multi-device
sync is a feature in WhatsApp that allows users to access their WhatsApp
account on multiple devices simultaneously. Before this feature was introduced,
WhatsApp only allowed users to access their account on a single device at a
time, which could be inconvenient for users who frequently switch between
devices or use multiple devices.
With Companion Mode -
multi-device sync, users can link up to four non-phone devices (such as
tablets, computers, or web browsers) to their WhatsApp account and use them to
send and receive messages, make voice and video calls, and access other
WhatsApp features. This feature also allows users to use their WhatsApp account
on their primary phone without an active internet connection, which can be useful
in areas with poor connectivity.
One of the key benefits of
Companion Mode - multi-device sync is that it doesn't require the primary phone
to be connected to the internet, as each linked device is connected directly to
the WhatsApp servers. This means that users can continue to use WhatsApp on
their other devices even if their phone is lost, stolen, or damaged.
6. Increased the Time Limit for deleting send messages in WhatsApp
To delete a sent message in
WhatsApp, users can tap and hold on the message they want to delete, then
select "Delete" from the menu that appears. They can then choose to
delete the message for everyone in the chat or group, or just for themselves.
If they select "Delete for everyone", the message will be removed
from the chat or group for all users, and replaced with a message that says
"This message was deleted".
By increasing the time limit for
deleting sent messages, WhatsApp gives users more flexibility and control over
the messages they send, allowing them to correct mistakes, revoke inappropriate
messages, or simply remove messages they no longer want to be visible. This can
help to prevent misunderstandings, protect privacy, and promote responsible
communication on the platform.
7. WhatsApp Private Newsletter
WhatsApp Private Newsletter is a
feature that allows businesses and creators to send private, subscription-based
newsletters to their followers using the WhatsApp Business API. This feature
enables businesses and creators to build a community of engaged followers on
the WhatsApp messaging platform, and to provide exclusive content and updates
to their subscribers in a more personalized and direct way.
To use the WhatsApp Private
Newsletter feature, businesses and creators first need to apply for and be
approved for access to the WhatsApp Business API. Once approved, they can set
up their WhatsApp Business account, create a subscription-based newsletter, and
invite followers to subscribe to their newsletter by providing a phone number
and opting in to receive messages.
Once a follower has subscribed to
a WhatsApp Private Newsletter, they will receive regular updates and content
directly in their WhatsApp chat, which they can read and engage with at their
own convenience. Businesses and creators can also use the WhatsApp Business API
to automate message delivery, send quick replies, and provide customer support
to their subscribers.
8. Lock Chat in WhatsApp
Lock Chat is a feature in
WhatsApp that allows users to add an extra layer of security to their chats by
locking them with a password or fingerprint. This feature is designed to help
users protect their sensitive or private chats from unauthorized access, such
as from family members or friends who may use their phone.
To use the Lock Chat feature in
WhatsApp, users need to first enable it in the app's settings. Once enabled,
they can select the chats they want to lock by tapping and holding on the chat,
selecting the "More" option from the menu, and then choosing
"Lock Chat". They can then choose whether to lock the chat with a
password or fingerprint, depending on the security options available on their
device.
Once a chat is locked, users will
need to enter their password or authenticate with their fingerprint to access
the chat. This can help to prevent unauthorized access to the chat, and ensure
that the messages and content within it remain private and secure.
9. View once audio
WhatsApp did offer a "view
once" feature for photos and videos, which allowed users to send photos
and videos that would disappear after the recipient had viewed them once.
It's worth noting that while
WhatsApp messages and content are encrypted end-to-end, meaning that they are
highly secure and private, there is always a risk of the recipient taking
screenshots or recording the content before it disappears. Therefore, users
should be cautious about sending sensitive or confidential information on WhatsApp
or any other messaging platform, and should take appropriate security measures
to protect their data and privacy.
10. Text Editor
WhatsApp had introduced a new
text editor in its app that offered more formatting options and improved
usability. Some of the new features of the text editor included:
- More formatting options: Users could now format their text with bold, italic, and strikethrough formatting options. They could also use a monospace font for a more distinct look.
- Improved text selection and editing: Users could now more easily select and edit text, with a new toolbar that appeared above the selected text, allowing them to quickly change the font, format, or style of the text.
- Live preview of formatting: As users typed or edited text, they could see a live preview of how it would look with the selected formatting options.
- Simplified interface: The new text editor had a simplified interface that made it easier to find and use the formatting options.
These new features of the text
editor in WhatsApp aimed to make the messaging experience more intuitive and
user-friendly, and to give users more control over how their messages looked
and felt.
